With the opening of the McCracken County High School in 2013 your high school campus changed but the McCracken County High School Band's legacy is rich with years of experiences of the Heath Pirate Band, the Lone Oak High School Band, and the Reidland High School Band; on and off of the field and those achieved by all of the individuals who collectively made up these organizations. The list of these achievements are to many to mention here for fear that one great moment would be missed.
Many of you, alumni from these great schools, have children and grandchildren who are participating in this year's McCracken County High School Band and there are those of you that continue to educate us still today in the classes of McCracken County High School. You have recalled your band experiences and shared them with family; encouraging them to participate and achieve what you have experienced. For your commitment and achievements, for your legacy we are grateful. The lessons learned, the techniques, the stories from a hot asphalt practice field, and the example that you have passed on to us have made the McCracken County High School Band what it is today.
